The new IMP-VPX model from the IMP-VP series

ISVE S.p.A. presents the new IMP-VPX, an advanced solution that combines impregnation and drying in a single machine, moving beyond the traditional practice of handling these processing stages separately.

The cycle begins with a pre-drying phase in a controlled environment, which allows the wood to be rapidly brought to the correct moisture. This is followed by the impregnation phase: a vacuum removes the air from the wood cells, facilitating the penetration of the product, which is then fixed in place by pressure. The process concludes with drying, which ensures greater dimensional stability and product quality.

The IMP-VPX is managed by a Siemens PLC system that precisely controls vacuum, pressure, temperature and timing, with programmes tailored to different wood species. Sensors and automation ensure continuous monitoring and full traceability.

Flow optimisation and the use of vacuum also improve energy efficiency, making the system sustainable and competitive.

BENEFITS

By combining impregnation and drying processes in a single machine:

  • cost and space savings
  • a single operator can handle the loading and unloading of the wood stack
  • time savings in handling the timber: both processes take place in the same treatment chamber, with dedicated hatches opening and closing according to the desired treatment
