Color System, a company certified according to ISO 14001 standards, has started a collaboration with ISVE with the objective of reducing the environmental impact of its plastic waste. Previously sent to authorized landfills, these materials are now recovered through a dedicated shredding system.
The plant allows plastic waste to be shredded into flakes, which are then supplied to specialized companies producing alternative fuel with high calorific value. This fuel is used by energy-intensive industries such as cement plants. As a result, the waste is no longer disposed of but instead recovered and valorized within a circular economy model.
The contact with ISVE originated from an online search, followed by a technical site inspection to assess operational requirements. Due to space constraints and specific needs, a customized system was developed and installed in a modular configuration.
The result is a highly automated solution designed according to Industry 4.0 principles, capable of managing the entire flow of the company’s production waste — including post-extrusion purge blocks — with external collection of the shredded material. Special attention was given to safety and ergonomics, ensuring operators benefit from a reliable, intuitive and user-friendly system.
